1/8 Aisaka Taiga Swimsuit ver.

It’s been a long time coming, but Kotobukiya has finally released the Dengeki Daioh Magazine Mail Order Exclusive 1/8 Toradora Aisaka Taiga swimsuit figure! She was ordered via Tokyo Hunter way back in early June.

The first thing to notice is this figure is quite small. Very small. In fact, it’s shorter than a Nendoroid. But this was not unexpected, as Taiga is very short to begin with. The Max Factory version of her is very short as well, and the size of this figure is comparable.

The packaging is adequate. It too is relatively small for a 1/8 figure as there aren’t many accessories for Taiga, except for her floating tube.

Kotobukiya did a great job with the painting. The details are sharp, and there are no visible smudges that I can see. She even has small little toenails. There is a very small area on the right shoulder strap just above her top that didn’t get painted, but it really isn’t noticeable unless you are focusing on it.

Yes, She really is Palmtop Taiga =)

If you have a chance to pick this up for a reasonable price, I would definitely go for it. She is incredibly cute, and would fit great into any collection.

R2 CLANNAD vol. 3 Limited Edition

I just recieved CLANNAD v3 LE  from Amazon Japan today. This volume comes complete with a holder for the entire series, and is dedicated to Fuuko. The amazing thing about Amazon Japan, is the shipping times. It took exactly two days from when I ordered it until it was at my front door. 2 days ahead of schedule!

The best thing about R2 DVDs is the extras you get in the box. Just look at all this great stuff!

Of course there is the DVD itself, complete with a great shot of Fuuko running in the street.

The inside is well, pink of course, and there is the lovely Fuuko trying to give you a starfish!

A real flyer advertisement for the Fuuko gag anime in one of the episodes!

It also comes with a script for one of the episodes, complete with notes from one of the cast.

It sure is neat to look at some of the scribbled out lines and see lines that were changed =)

And of course, it comes with your very own starfish, that Fuuko and her friends worked so hard to make!

I always love buying R2 DVDs. Even though they are far from cheap, the extras almost always surpass my expectations! I’m considering buying the rest of the CLANNAD R2’s at some point, but I think I will complete the CLANNAD Afterstory collection first.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Heiretsu

Suzumiya Haruhi no Heiretsu Front

Today is the day. After months of waiting, The Wii Game Suzumiya Haruhi no Heiretsu Chou SOS Danhiro Limited Edition by Sega is here!

Suzumiya Haruhi no Heiretsu Back

The best part about the Limited Edition is it comes with a Haruhi, Yuki, and Mikuru cosplay figure. Three figures! Well worth the $50 price premium over the standard edition in my opinion.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Heiretsu Opened

The opened box with it’s wonderful insides all pulled out.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Heiretsu Game

The front cover of the game.

The figures were very nicely packed. It took me about 15 minutes to cut all the tape around all the plastic, I’m serious. They seriously must have used half a roll taping it together. Then they had the top of the packaged wired to the bottom. Needless to say, it was very securely packed.

The beautiful Mikuru. She is so cute in her witch costume!

Yuki’s nekomimi alien hunter costume is well…interesting.

Pirate Haruhi is just pure awesome.

Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase. The figures are high-quality, and the game itself so far has been quite entertaining. If you have the opportunity to pick this up, it’s definetly worth the price!

One warning though, you will need a Japanese Wii to play this, a US Wii will not play it, even with a Freeloader.
